Our COVID 19 Update

UPDATED 21st April 2020

 We are Online from today!

To all of our customers we thank you for your patience and support while we worked through the current health concerns.

We are now confident that it is safe to follow government guidelines for the ACT and continue offering our services.

We have also taken the opportunity to streamline our online system. From today any NEW packages or NEW Bookings can be used for both MANUAL or AUTO lessons. Existing vouchers will need to be booked using the OLD DRIVING LESSONS menu as per the screenshot below. These will remain specific to Auto or Manual as purchased. We will be progressively changing the old vouchers over to new ones.

UPDATED 13th April 2020

Well, we are actively working on having our booking process back up and running for next week.

Thank you for your patience while we worked through the risks of the current Covid-19 pandemic. The health of our customers, instructors and the general community has always been our number 1 focus. We are confident that the situation in the ACT allows us to return to delivering quality lessons with our professional team of instructors.

We have made a few changes to our processes and will be offering a simplified online experience - yes even easier than before!

Given that we can't predict the future, we feel that selling packages at this time isn't the right thing to do. If you already have vouchers you can of course use those for lessons (remember we have extended the expiry date so plenty of time for you to use them). New sales will be for single lessons only, that minimizes your risk if your circumstances change and also helps keep your cash flow in control.

Unfortunately our Call Centre which operates on the Gold Coast has been closed temporarily. You can leave a voice mail and we will get back to you as soon as possible, however, please be patient as we will have limited team available. Our online process will can be used for bookings, cancellations an reschedules.

If you have ANY symptoms of a cold - runny nose, headache etc please cancel your lesson. If you show up for a lesson unfit to participate the instructor may forfeit the lesson unless you have give 24 hours notice.

We will be following all the recommended cleaning protocols between students to minimize the risk to everyone. Ultimately the decision to take lessons at this time is yours and we will have most of our team available for you. If you do not wish to take lessons at this time - NO PROBLEM! We will just extend your lesson vouchers until later.

Watch the web page and Facebook. As soon as the booking system is available we will be up and running.

Clarity regarding ACT rules.

In the latest update on Covid 19 from the ACT government there is now clarity around the delivery of Driving Lessons during the current restrictions. 9th April 2020 update.

https://www.covid19.act.gov.au/help-and-advice/transport

With clarity on our Authority to operate now in place, we are developing a risk assessment and approval process for our Instructors to resume lessons. This will be done on an individual basis and it is anticipated that we will have reduced capacity for some time.

More to come once we have a firm, safe and executable plan in place.

Your safety and the safety of our team is #1

Unfortunately we have had to act extremely fast to bring our business in line with government personal distancing requirements. We understand that this has disappointed many of our loyal and valued customers. This health emergency is unprecedented and we have to ensure the safety of our team and our customers.

We listened and acted early.

Our customers were also letting us know what community expectations were in relation to this. In one day we had 62 phone calls to  cancel lessons in response to the increasing restrictions and worry in the community. This does not even include lessons cancelled online.

Be assured we are here for the long term.

  1. When this is over your vouchers will be available to use. Our instructors will need the work and they will appreciate the return to normal.

  2. Your accounts will be available online to keep track of your lessons.

  3. Our call centre closed on Friday 27th March.  During the suspension of lessons our phones will divert to voicemail. We still have people in the back ground processing these requests so please be patient and we will get back to you as soon as we can. This will be via email or text. Unfortunately we are not processing refunds.

  4. This suspension has been put in place to meet the government personal distancing requirements to maintain 1.5m distance and to abide by the 4m2 per person rule. (this has been verified again by the national covid19 hotline on 26th March)

  5. All vouchers will be extended and lessons can be taken after this suspension period.

  6. Our instructor team have been asked not to complete private lessons. Our insurances do not apply to lessons conducted after Sunday 29th March 2020 until normal operations resume. Terms and conditions for lessons remain the same and vouchers cannot be refunded or applied toward unauthorised lessons conducted during the stoppage.

What is happening with tests?

Access Canberra have announced that Driving Tests will be suspended to ensure the ongoing safety of their team. Your test vouchers will be extended to cover this stoppage by Access Canberra. Final drives will not be conducted by our team during this suspension period.

Your safety and the safety of our team remains our primary objective.

As things improve we will review the situation and continue to keep you updated.

We hope that you, your family and friends stay safe and we look forward to continue our services once the current restrictions are removed.
