Talking cars set to slash road toll

NEW technology that allows cars to communicate with each other to prevent accidents will be tested in Sydney, with hopes it could eventually slash the road toll by a third.

The idea of reducing road injury with the use of new technologies is an exciting prospect. This newspaper article highlights just how  the technology has the potential to reduce accidents by an estimated 35%. Basically technology (called Co-operative Intelligent Technology) that allows vehicles to talk to each other increasing awareness and hazard responsiveness.  Read the article here .
